A WELL-ROUNDED EDUCATION, WITH ONLY ONE GOAL IN MIND
I'm a native Texan. I knew I wanted to be a veterinarian when I was 3 years old. I was a National Merit Scholar at Memorial High School (Houston), and earned 3 degrees from Texas A & M University.
B.S.--Biomedical Sciences, Texas A & M, 1979 (Magna Cum Laude)
B.S.--Veterinary Sciences, Texas A & M, 1982 (Cum Laude)
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Texas A & M, 1984
A PASSION FOR EXCELLENCE IN PET CARE & CLIENT INVOLVEMENT
My patients deserve, and get, the same quality of care and attention expected of a top flight physician. A crucial part of this caliber pet care is informing the clients of the options available. I use a combination of tried and true techniques with the latest in diagnostic equipment. I attend classes, workshops and seminars that not only enhance my technical skills, but my evaluative skills as well.
SPECIAL INTEREST AND IMPRESSIVE WORK EXPERIENCE
Being the senior practitioner in a large practice has allowed me to treat all kinds of patients with all kinds of problems. As an active showdog breeder/exhibitor since 1978, I've always had a special interest in allergies, skin and coat-care, and reproduction. Through extensive reading, continuing education, research and constant use, these special interest areas have evolved into a major part of my practice. I see new dermatology patients for a second opinion on a daily basis. I work with a wide variety of top breeders, helping them solve their dogs' reproductive issues.
A REAL PET LOVER
I raise and show AKC Champion Norwegian Elkhounds, have four of the cutest Maltese dogs you've ever seen, two wonderfully wild outdoor cats, two horses, and a pond full of pet Japanese Koi. Feeding time is really something!
ACTIVE IN HER PROFESSION
As with all my associates, I stay in touch with the profession through regular meetings and activities. Peers are an invaluable source of new information.

A CITIZEN OF ALL OF AMERICA:
I was born in Minnesota, but grew up in Arlington, Texas. I've lived in Michigan, Wisconsin, Texas and Nevada.
MY LOVE OF ANIMALS LED ME TO MY FIRST DIPLOMA, AND TO EXPLORE ALL ASPECTS OF ANIMAL CARE:
I received my B.S. in Animal Science. Prior to vet school, I acquired broad experience in a variety of veterinary disciplines--large animal care, ophthalmology, small animal care, emergency medicine.
I FOUND MY HEART:
I love working with and caring for ALL animals. I discovered a special affinity for cats in veterinary school. After graduation, to augment my expertise in feline-specific issues, I spent two years working with a very well-known and nationally respected feline practitioner in San Antonio.
HELPING PETS GIVE BACK TO THEIR COMMUNITY:
During veterinary school, my cat, Frito, and I were involved in HABIT--Human Animal Bond In Tennessee. Frito's patience and love while participating in this animal-assisted therapy program for stroke and trauma victims amazed me every day. Animal-assisted therapy continues to be a very special interest for me.
KITTY THERAPY HAPPENS AT HOME, TOO!:
Frito has 4 other feline housemates. Each one has a long, colorful story to tell about how they joined my family. There is a running debate as to exactly WHICH kitty is in charge!
COLLEGE FOOTBALL ROCKS!:
I am an avid fan of Tennessee Volunteer football, and of college football in general. I award extra points to anyone who agrees with me!
DALLAS IS HOME:
I relocated to the DFW area to spend more time with my family. The Dallas Cowboys rock, too! I'm looking forward to living in the area again, and acquiring a new extended family and clients.
